Course Overview
Often considered a black art modern music production encompasses skills as broad as composition, sound design, synthesis, recording and post production.
From dance floor to professional film score, the career options are ever changing.The SCIM approach to music production education can only be described as revolutionary, integrating music theory, multimedia learning content and an array of skills and techniques never taught before on the African continent.

Course structure and class attendance
This comprehensive course consists of two semesters which are designed to cover everything you will need to know in order to produce world class dance music from scratch! The course also includes four Music Business Modules; the Music Business Modules have been designed in order to help young South African artists and Producers understand and partake in the various business aspects of the music industry as they learn to manage and market their music, professionally.
Class attendance for the Music Production is twice weekly for 2 hours (practical and lectures) and class times for the Music Business Modules will be twice a week; whereby the Music Business Modules will be hosted on a bi-monthly basis (one month per module). Students will be able to choose class times upon successful registration for the course.
Please note that selected class times will be for the duration of the course.
Students will write a class test halfway through each semester as well as a final exam at the end of each semester for the Music Production section of the course, and students will write a test at the end of each Music Business Module completed.
Students are also required to submit practical assignments and projects throughout the duration of the Music Production part of the course.
Pass mark is 75% for all test and assignments.
All students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course as well as a certificate to verify successful completion of the Music Business Modules.
Music Business Module tests are written at the end of each module completed.
Payment Options and details
Total cost of the course is R28,000.00 and students are required to select one of four payment options for the course. Each student is to pay a registration fee of R3,000.00 to secure their place in the course (this deposit counts as part of the total payment)
Payment deadlines are to be strictly adhered to, and any student who has not submitted their relevant fees by said deadlines will NOT be allowed to attend class. Please note that no excuses will be accepted for late payments. No fees, no class.
Each student will receive all course material (books, notes, etc.) required for the course, as well as a set of SENNHEISER headphones (included in course fee).
